#1 roller derby announcer Dumptruck got his start in voice work in Memphis, TN as on air talent for 92.9 WMFS. Known for his deep raspy voice, sense of humor, and willingness to do just about anything, Dumptruck has continued to pop up all over the world. He’s been an announcer for the Denver Roller Dolls, Rocky Mtn. Roller Girls, LA Derby Dolls, and numerous other women’s roller derby events globally, including Australia for the 1st ever roller derby event in the southern hemisphere. As of late, he’s become one of the main cast members on the world’s premier roller derby podcast, Derby Deeds,   and was voted 2010 and 2011's #1 rollerderby announcer by his peers in the derby community. What started out as something fun to do has now turned him into an event emcee full time. You’ve seen him emceeing events for PBR, 42 Below Vodka, the Denver Tattoo Convention, various dance troupes, concert tours, miscellaneous sporting events, and he’s also been seen at Daytona Bike Week and Sturgis emceeing for Harley Davidson. Dumptruck has even made his way to television. In 2009 on the DIY network he found himself emceeing a portion of a show called “Disaster House” and, last year he was a guest judge on the “Derby Cakes” episode of The Food Network Challenge, which aired August 2010. Recently, he co-hosted an all-star roller derby bout on the Root Sports Network in Seattle, WA. With his event emcee career in full bloom, he’s now pursuing the life of a voice over actor. This year, Dumptruck has hit the road on his motorcycle going from one derby town to the next, guest announcing and passing on his knowledge of the game. Along the way, he teaches how to translate the action on the track to the crowd at the venue, at home during a broadcast online, and on regional sports networks. Keep your ears open, you’ll be hearing more from him soon.
